We got married in Galley Bay and spent 14 nights there. It was a wonderful wedding in a wonderful setting. Each and every one of the staff were really nice and friendly, made our stay really special. The place is a postcard and to open our patio door and to look out at the sea just 2 seconds away was amazing, the blue of the water is gorgeous and we are missing the sound of the waves that lulled us to sleep every night. The sand is soft and powdery and the last day I made sure I did a last walk on the beach to imprint on my memory the feeling of it under my feet. It feels so long ago now, it feels like it is a distant dream. I admit that all my memories of Galley Bay are entwined with my wedding memories, so much more special to me than to any others, but it couldn't have been so special without Galley Bay and its staff. The life there was simple and relaxing, but never boring, as we would always meet new couples in the bar and everybody made us feel special on our wedding day. I was worried I wouldn't feel like a princess on my wedding day as I didn't have family around, but I certainly felt like one because everybody, guests and staff, were congratulating us and coming up to show their delight. One of the guests even organised a first dance for us on our wedding night with the live band at the Sea Grape restaurant and we danced alone and everybody clapped at the end of the song! It was magical. As Galley Bay.
One could look for tiny things to complain about, if you had to be petty, nowhere is perfect and expectations are high for the price you pay, but the people that bend over backwards to satisfy you and that make you feel so special make up for tiny flaws.
We will certainly go back, especially when we heard the Maitre d' Mike welcome a couple back for the third time with the words:
Welcome home.
Thanks to Valentina for this trip report ...
