The main inhabitants of this district are Creoles followed by Mestizos and a smaller number of Lebanese, Chinese, East Indians and Caucasian. Belize City is the largest city and also the commercial capital of Belize. It is perched on the East of the country along the Caribbean Sea and is also the major port of export and import. The largest commercial centers and tourist facilities are housed in Belize City. Many colonial type houses can still be found in the city which are clearly distinct by its red roof and wooden walls. Some places worth a visit while in Belize City are the Government House, the Anglican Cathedral, the Bliss Institute and the Paslow Building which houses the post office and the Magistrates' Court. Belize City is also the major point for people to
mobilize to the different parts of the country and abroad. The Phillip S.W.
