Guyana - Trip Reports

Country of Guyana

On a recent two month trip to my beautiful country, I experienced Guyana on a different level, than I ever had before. I must say that a lot have been done to improve the quality of it's lushful landscape, nothing drastic(these things do take time). The celebration of emancipation week was the most memorable, the different ceremonies and dances, lots of money was invested by the private sector, which i feel, was the cause of it's success.

I'm also very delighted that we are being recognized as equal counterparts of the Caribbean, many artists within the caribbean are frequenting Guyana, finally recognizing the market there, also the different pageants that are taking place, are also advertising the many beauties of our diverse races, this year also marked a turing point for us, when we were once again represented in the Miss Universe Pageant after all those years. She (Guyana) also sent forth one of her brillant products to show the world that we also have talent, by baring such a wonderful offspring and sending him to the West Indies Cricket Team, to show the world that Guyanese peolpe can play cricket just as good too. But trying to keep up with the "Jones's," the introduction of the Lottery has produced millionaires in our standard of life, with branch-offs such as Courts, KFC and other co-operations creating "mini" millionaires also.

The visibility of many foreign companies investment in Guyana are visible just about everywhere you go, such franchises as Pizza Hut, KFC, Sears and others gracefully line the streets of Georgetown.

Thanks to Yekesha Yolanda for this trip report ...
