My wife Carol and I just spent 11 days at the Yucatan. All we had heard about it was true. The beach is just beautiful. The food, coffee etc really good. As was the service at the bars. we were given a room in the 8000 block, but Penny had said to try for the 4-5000 block which are closer to the pool. We did and were successful in moving on our 2nd day. The monkeys were a blast.
The Riu group just opened a new hotel in Cancun. It is Riu Palace Los Americas. We took the option of a transfer there for our last three days. WHAT A GORGEOUS hotel and it is right downtown Cancun. However, very pricey and would be above our means for a two week stay. The beach there is quite small but sandy. The food etc etc excellent.
So, thanks to Mike and Penny for your help prior to us going.
