Having stayed at this hotel on St. Maarten's in the mid nineties and early in 2002, it was nice to see that this hotel retains its relaxed ambience. Despite a number of new rooms and new management since my last visit, Mary's Boon offers great value (we paid approx US$125/night) for a second floor room.
Located on Simpson Bay it is the perfect choice for access to a great walking beach (especially in September when there was rarely anyone on the beach) and shops and casinos of St. Maarten.
A downside for some visitors might be the proximity to the runway at Juliana's Airport where the occasional 747 landing can rattle the windows. Personally, I find it quite fascinating - but if you're into complete peace and quiet then this is not a place to stay.
Thanks to GT for this trip report ...
