St. Thomas is a beautiful island, with good infrastructure. Having travelled to many other Caribbean destinations, I experienced a lack of service mentality, which limits the experience of the island, particularly when one knows how the people are at other destinations such as St. Maarten or Aruba.
A word of caution goes to anyone visiting St. Thomas is to make sure not to stay at Bluebeard's Castle Hotel as it is one of the worst properties I have ever experienced. I still don't understand how RCI can award membership or affiliation to a 'resort' of such mediocricity. The service is awful and the property is in need of some investment. They cannot rely on a beautiful view. I cannot emphasize enough the terrible hotel this is. Do yourself a favor, don't stay at Bluebeard's Castle. There are plenty of other great hotels that will provide a much better service.
Recommend: Glady's Cafe, Room with a view.
Not that hot: Green House, Tram(not worth it for $30)
Thanks to Mario for this trip report ...
