Just got back from a way too brief (3 night trip) to Grand Cayman. Stayed
at the Marriott with Marriott rewards. Had lovely room overlooking the
garden area. Beach a little narrow, great sand, crowded, no current, clear
and warm water. Hotel was nice, if you like big hotels.
Red Sail Water Sports or maybe it was the hotel screwed up our first try at
visiting Stingray City. So, I missed a day of snorkeling and my husband
missed a dive.
Stingray City was fun, but the Red Sail catamaran was loaded and once in the
water you had more to fear from getting kicked in the head by fellow
snorkelers than from the stingrays who posed no treat, but were aggressively
looking for food (squid).
Good restaurants - Cassanova (rustic Italian setting, great view); The Wharf
(great view) and the Italian Gardens (no view). All had excellent food and
service. Best food award goes to Italian Gardens.
So many restaurants, and no time. Expensive. Expect to pay what you'd on
an expense account in a large American beach city.
Fun. Would go again sometime.
Thanks to Gloria for this trip report ...
