Just arrived home from a truly delightful vacation in Cuba.
The Breezes Jibacoa resort is beautiful.
The landscape behind the hotel is awesome. The gardens around the hotel are lovely.
The beach area is quite nice however a better job could be done removing the seaweed and rocks from certain areas as you enter the water.
The lobby area is very comfortable. Yuset, the bartender at the lobby bar is the best !
Ask him to make you a Havana Special and tell him Roland and Teri say hello!
The pool is huge and strategically located close to everything.
Our room was very nice. We had the Gardenview on the first floor.
Just a word of caution. When it rains it rains quite heavily,I think we caught the tail end of Tropical Storm Barry, anyhow our room got a little flooded.
Plenty of activities to keep you busy. I strongly suggest that you try snorkelling straight out from the beach bar!
AMAZING ! Lots of colourful fish including Barracuda's and white corral! Invest in your own equipment as the staff dont properly disinfect the equipment provided.
I cant really comment on the evening entertainment but people I spoke to said it was fine.
This report would not be complete without a comment about the food. The breakfasts were very good! Eggs anyway you like them, including delicious omlettes.Lots of fresh fruit, cereals etc.
Never ate lunch always to full from breakfast.
In my opinion the dinners could have been better. If you like chicken then you will be in heaven. They cook chicken 101 different ways.
Martino's, the italian restaurant was very good. You have to make reservations and I suggest you make them when you arrive.
Wednesday night is Lobster night in the buffet dining area. Go after 7:30pm to avoid the crowds and the hassle of finding a table. The Cuban restaurant was okay.Again you have to make reservations.
Finally a comment about excursions. The Havana day trip at $51 US per person is well worth the money. Also dont miss going on the Jolly Roger. The trip includes a lobster lunch, all your drinks, snorkelling and a visit to a secluded little island called Cayo Blanco. The beach their is beautiful.
Well worth the $75 US per person price.
We will go back to the Breezes Jibacoa!
Have fun !
Thanks to Roalnd for this trip report ...
