My husband and I chose this resort because of the extras that were included and we were not disappointed. The two cruises are a must, especially the sunset cruise. We heard it dubbed the "booze cruise". It was nothing like that at all! Bring along $10 for a FRESH lobster, it was the best meal I had all week.If you are only there for 1 week don't count on scuba diving, one of the three lessons is on monday morning and we didn't get there until the afternoon. Make sure that the first thing you do when you get there is to reserve your place on the two cruises, they fill up fast and alot of guests were disappointed they didn't get to go.
The grounds were lush, green and flowering, absolutly beautiful. The small walk from the new section of the hotel was actually a plus to the day. It gave us a really tropical feeling. The beach had no seaweed, soft sand and lots of shade. Everything I had expected.
Now for the downside. We LOVED this resort except for the food. I would rate it at about a 5 out of 10. It is definatly edible but I don't know if I would have been able to eat it much longer. The ice cream and the buns were delicious. I wish I had brought a few snacks from home for a treat. I could have really used a chocolate bar.
Don't let the food deter you fro this resort. The staff were the friendliest I have ever experienced and I would return to Brisas del Caribe tomorrow. You will not be disappointed. E mail dbdeacon@telus.net if you would like pics, or have any questions.
Thanks to Michelle for this trip report ...
