Cuba - Trip Reports

Brisas Del Caribe

We just got back from 1 week at the Brisas Del Caribe in Veradero Cuba.

It was a nice relaxing holiday. The nightlife is pretty much non-existent, so it may be a little boring for singles. The food was good, although I got tired of it after about the 5th day.. wouldn't want to eat it for 2 wks! The a la cart restaurents are alright, the seafood one is better then the one in the disco.

The rooms are nice, they are bigger in the new wing, and they have fridges! The new wing is not actually attached to the main hotel though, it's about a two minute walk.. nothing serious! We tipped our maid every day, giving her tylenol, soap, magazines, gum, pepto bismol.. etc.. basically stuff they can't get there. Our room was spotless all week.. and she would fold our towels into little messages/sculptures every day! We had a group of 12 people age 23-35.

We went on 3 trips while we were there first of all we went on the Jolly Roger tour. It was good, cost $70USD.. and was an all day thing. Just be forewarned.. the lobster dinner you get is not what you think. It's lobster chunks in a tomatoe sauce. If you want a boiled whole lobster.. it'll cost you $10USD. The next trip we did was "Party Night" which took us to The Mambo Club.. it was $20USD.. it was a good time, the drinks and transportation are all included. Finally we took the day trip to Havanna, it was $63USD.. and this was the best one by far.. DO NOT miss it!

The guys at the 24hr bar are great, very friendly and they can help you out with cigars/rum/coffee if you get to know them!

Thanks to Marcel for this trip report ...
