We recently stayed at the Melia Rio de Oro in Guardalavaca Cuba. We were pleased with the resort in every way. It is definitely a five star venture a t a very reasonable price. The food was terrific, the beach and pool were wonderful (although the weather is windy everyday), great for windsurfing. We did a little snorkelling off the beach, very friendly beautiful fish.
The difference was made by the staff who are the most genuine, friendly people. We loved the entire staff and I think the vacation ws so wonderful due to the staff and their ease to assist you in any way. Drinks were great and loved their pizza and ice cream - superb.
A tip - plan to visit during the off season.
We plan on returning next year.
