My wife and I visited Santiago de Cuba staying at Club Amigo Los Corales in January 2002 for 2 weeks and found it to very enjoyable. The staff were eager to please and very friendly. The food was great as was the eating area (smoking & non-smoking areas).
The rooms were clean and quite pleasant. The beach was great for sunning, but the swimming area was quite small due to the coral reef.
A limited number of trips were offered. A day trip to Santiago de Cuba was very interesting, offered in French, German or English. The helicopter tour to Baconoa was not offered in English, so we did not go. There were lots of activities around the pool during the day and nightly entertainment till about 11:00 p.m.
We are sure to return there at a later date.
