Just returned home from our 7 days at Sosua. We too had read many reviews and thought we would give it a chance. Us and another couple arrived on time, were checked into a very clean room overlooking the bay. Our friends didn't like their room as they were close to the "market" and the smell of the fumes was terrible. After a couple of times mentioning to the front desk (no luck with them tho) they spoke to our sunquest rep and within the hour were moved. We were concerned over the stairs that we had read in previous reviews but are now thankful as the food was incredible! The stairs, and yes there are stairs, got to be a game to us after awhile and we were not going to let it spoil anything. Another concern was power outages, never had one in our hotel during our stay in March. We had one incident over the water, but again, hey on a holiday laugh! The staff were very good to us and all it took was a quick call and to ask if we needed something. We enjoyed the beach, the catamaran and the outback safari - hello Junior!
All in all, it was a nice clean place, lotsa food and cervasa!
