Overnighted at this budget resort on Barbados on November 8, 2003. The hotel is located on the North West coast of the island between Speightstown and Holetown. It is a US$30 taxi ride from the airport.
Rooms: We were upgraded to a two-storey apartment-type room with a small balcony. The room also had limited cable TV, fridge and cooking facilities. The room was somewhat tired, but reasonable value for money (US$93 booked through Travelocity).
Beach: This was my first visit to this part of the island and I was surprised by the good beaches here. The hotel is bookended by two nice beaches.
Restaurants: We ate dinner at the Fish Pot restaurant by Little Harbour, approximately a 10 minute taxi ride from Sandridge. Great fish menu, attentive service, all-in-all an excellent experience despite numerous downpours throughout the night. The hotel restaurant breakfast was nothing more than ordinary but that was reflected in the price. Happy hour (half price) drinks was Saturday 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Guests: Large contingent of British vacationers, many with children.
Conclusion: Acceptable given the price. Nice location. Recommend dinner at the Fish Pot for an upscale culinary experience.
